Templates in DADO

Templates are used to teach DADO how to find document information on Project Drawings, Shop Drawings, and Custom Documents. Templates are a powerful tool that can automate almost all of the administrative workload in DADO.

Workshop

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The video of this workshop includes import & cloud sync interfaces that have been updated. For up-to-date information on importing & syncing documents into DADO, please check out our article: Import Your Documents in DADO.

Introduction

In this workshop, you will learn how to...

  • Create, Edit, Apply, and Delete templates,

  • Use multiple templates together,

  • Use Rules to modify template field selections.

Instructions

  1. Get the Materials. Download the workshop materials to your computer in order to follow along.

    1. Materials: Sample Documents

  2. Follow Along with the Video. If you have more than one monitor, have this video playing in a separate window on your secondary monitor so you can follow along in DADO on your primary display. Once things are set up how you like them, play the video!

  3. Practice. Upload some of your own documents and create templates to automatically identify document information. We only used Project Drawings - so try using templates with Shop Drawings or even Custom Documents!
